you need to get a standard codec pack
Try downloading the Windows Essential Codecs Pack. It has all the decoders you’ll need. You can download it safely and freely from CNET’s download.com.
Codecs can be downloaded from many sites, I suggest downloading the free KLite codec pack, its a single file which can install many different codecs all at once. Try googling it.
